Change in Net Pay from my Umbrella Company

Dear Experts

I have been with my umbrella company for a few years now and recently my weekly salary changed. When I queried this they advised the tax office had changed my tax code. I was told I had not been paying tax.

I now have a weekly combined bill of tax and National Insurance which seems to me very high not to mention any outstanding bill I may end up with from HMRC.

I am stressed with the thought I may end up with a seriously large bill.

Regards

Mr H

Dear H

Relax, there is no worry if the umbrella company has changed your tax code - they can do this only if HMRC instruct them to do so and you should have a copy of that change of tax code.

Simply telephone the HMRC helpline to hear it from them to put your mind at rest.
